Numerous other museums and historical sites display reproductions of his carefully researched paintings. Documentary films, books and magazines and classrooms utilize his images to better visualize our History of the 18th century.
He has exhibited in many of the most prestigious national and international art shows, where many, many awards have graced his 56 year career.
He graduated from Art Center College of Design with a degree in Illustration in 1962. After a 31 year commercial art career … during which he became very impressed with CORRECTNESS, when working with the National Geographic Society. They had stressed, extensive research before a painting is begun; afterward, they would consult an expert to sign off on the artwork.
Building on this concept, Buxton has reveled in his chosen genre. Painting scenes of a young Eastern Woodland Frontier, and often, those unseen daily occurrences that transport us back in time.
